Recently, the Cayman Career Academy was given the honourable designation of being a CIDESCO approved school. This honour comes after 4 years of development in partnership with Workforce Opportunities and Residency Cayman (WORC) and CIDESCO to develop a programme that would not only increase awareness and interest in the trade but to also provide Caymanians the opportunity to learn a trade in the Beauty Industry, receive certification and attain higher qualifications in areas not currently being addressed at other local learning institutions.
Cayman Career Academy (CCA) opened in April 2019 offering Two Certificate Courses – Aesthetics and Body Therapy and the Diploma in Beauty Therapy, leading to CIDESCO qualifications. These courses were also offered at a Post-graduate level training with certificates and diplomas in Beauty & Body Therapy.

Dianne Conolly, Manager National Training and Development shared that “the introduction of local TVET opportunities and training programmes provides an accessible pathway for Caymanians who are seeking to enter or develop themselves further in a trade. WORC is proud to be a key partner with CCA in providing such an opportunity. Today these graduates have made history worldwide and locally as the first Caymanians locally certified with CIDESCO qualifications”.
Ms Jacqueline Tomlinson-Smith the CEO of TFG Group of Companies and Principal of CCA stated, “I am delighted to be the founder of Cayman Career Academy offering the prestigious CIDESCO, The World Standard For Beauty And Spa Therapy, locally. Schools which are accredited by CIDESCO have the highest standards of training, equipment and hygiene. Any Candidate who completes their training at an Accredited CIDESCO School can be assured that they have received an education of excellence unmatched by any other. I therefore commend and acknowledge, Miss Wendy Lynch, our main tutor, on a job well done! I congratulate all our graduates and together, we are all so proud to be making history in the Cayman Islands as pioneers of the first CIDESCO school in the Cayman Islands and Caribbean. A big thank you also goes to WORC for their assistance and commitment to help make this school a reality. To Josephine Wackett, Honorary CIDESCO Member for encouraging us all along the way, Lydia Sarfati, Repechage founder and President of CIDESCO USA, to our External Examiner, Mary Finnegan and of course to the awesome education team at CIDESCO headquarters in Switzerland … thank you all.
